We have been working hard to save lives across the world. We have recently been able to send 2000 water filters to Haiti, as well as continuing our work in developing countries, with the provision of barrels, life jackets and straws. We will update this timeline with more information soon.
In 2014 we were invited to meet Helen Clark, head of the UNDP and former Prime Minster of New Zealand, who has since offered help and advice to move the charity forward.
In April 2012 we were awarded our charitable status.
2010 Continued negotiations and presentations to UNICEF and other organisations. Since 2010 we have met with other NGO’s and are working closely to find areas where our barrels are needed. For example in 2013 alongside Hope and Aid Direct, we were able to send 200 barrels to the Philippines.
2009 contact made with UNICEF to evaluate the need for barrels in rural communities around the world. 2009 Break through in obtaining a supply line for barrels at a price that could warrant sending to Africa and Asia.
In 2006 Adrian Brewer, CEO, founded Roll Out The Barrel after witnessing children carrying water over long distances. For more information see the About page.
In 2006 we also made an enquiry to LifeStraw to see if there was a way of supplying barrels alongside a LifeStraw. At that stage LifeStraw was in early development.
